FAQ

How does AI work

An artificial neural system is composed of many simple processors, called neurons. Each neuron takes inputs from other neurons, and then uses mathematical operations to process them.

Neurons can be arranged in layers. Each layer serves a different purpose. The first layer receives raw data, such as sounds and images. Then it passes these on to the next layer, which processes them further. Finally, the output is produced by the final layer.

Each neuron also has a weighting number. This value is multiplied when new input arrives and added to all other values. If the number is greater than zero then the neuron activates. It sends a signal up the line, telling the next Neuron what to do.

This continues until the network's end, when the final results are achieved.

Who is the inventor of AI?

Alan Turing

Turing was born in 1912. His father was clergyman and his mom was a nurse. He was an exceptional student of mathematics, but he felt depressed after being denied by Cambridge University. He took up chess and won several tournaments. He was a British code-breaking specialist, Bletchley Park. There he cracked German codes.

1954 was his death.

John McCarthy

McCarthy was conceived in 1928. McCarthy studied math at Princeton University before joining MIT. The LISP programming language was developed there. In 1957, he had established the foundations of modern AI.

He died in 2011.

What are the benefits of AI?

Artificial Intelligence is a revolutionary technology that could forever change the way we live. It has already revolutionized industries such as finance and healthcare. It's predicted that it will have profound effects on everything, from education to government services, by 2025.

AI is already being used to solve problems in areas such as medicine, transportation, energy, security, and manufacturing. The possibilities of AI are limitless as new applications become available.

What is it that makes it so unique? First, it learns. Computers are able to learn and retain information without any training, which is a big advantage over humans. Instead of learning, computers simply look at the world and then use those skills to solve problems.

AI's ability to learn quickly sets it apart from traditional software. Computers can process millions of pages of text per second. They can recognize faces and translate languages quickly.

Artificial intelligence doesn't need to be manipulated by humans, so it can do tasks much faster than human beings. It can even perform better than us in some situations.

In 2017, researchers created a chatbot called Eugene Goostman. This bot tricked numerous people into thinking that it was Vladimir Putin.

This shows that AI can be extremely convincing. AI's adaptability is another advantage. It can be taught to perform new tasks quickly and efficiently.

This means businesses don't need large investments in expensive IT infrastructures or to hire large numbers.

From where did AI develop?

Artificial intelligence began in 1950 when Alan Turing suggested a test for intelligent machines. He suggested that machines would be considered intelligent if they could fool people into believing they were speaking to another human.

John McCarthy took the idea up and wrote an essay entitled "Can Machines think?" in 1956. He described the problems facing AI researchers in this book and suggested possible solutions.

AI: What is it used for?

Artificial intelligence (computer science) is the study of artificial behavior. It can be used in practical applications such a robotics, natural languages processing, game-playing, and other areas of computer science.

AI can also be called machine learning. This refers to the study of machines learning without having to program them.

AI is being used for two main reasons:

  1. To make your life easier.
  2. To do things better than we could ever do ourselves.

Self-driving cars is a good example. AI can do the driving for you. We no longer need to hire someone to drive us around.

Is Alexa an artificial intelligence?

The answer is yes. But not quite yet.

Amazon has developed Alexa, a cloud-based voice system. It allows users speak to interact with other devices.

The Echo smart speaker, which first featured Alexa technology, was released. Since then, many companies have created their own versions using similar technologies.

Some of these include Google Home, Apple's Siri, and Microsoft's Cortana.

Statistics

  • More than 70 percent of users claim they book trips on their phones, review travel tips, and research local landmarks and restaurants. (builtin.com)
  • Additionally, keeping in mind the current crisis, the AI is designed in a manner where it reduces the carbon footprint by 20-40%. (analyticsinsight.net)
